Union of Classics and Modern Developments in Girard Perregaux Watches

The timepieces by Girard Perregaux are known as a great combination of watchmaking standards with the newest developments and beautiful classical design. And despite the time flies by, the image of the brand remains as it was as a symbol of good quality and stability.
The story of the brand began as the Swiss watchmaker Francois Bautte started creating his timepieces. But in 1856 Girard and Marie Perregaux took over the organization and Girard, the timepiece-maker, continued creating watches.
As the company came out to the watch market, it brought out its unusual idea to make timepieces with a very plain case. That was a successful beginning that led to lots of brand’s traditions. That time it was common to buy pocket watches so it was quite a revolutionary idea of the watchmaker to manufacture wristwatches in series in 1880.
So replica watches Gyromatic, the model with high frequency watch mechanism was let out by Girard Perregaux. In some period of time there appeared the 1st quartz mechanism with frequency of about 32,768 Hertz, which then became the norm followed worldwide. Girard Perregaux tried building microelectronics into classical watches as it was realized in his “Equation Espace Perpetuelle” watches model. That was quite unusual for those years. In fact it’s only modern technologies of the watchmaker that let him go through the years of economic crisis at the second half of the 20th century and keep his firm going. Semiconductors and Voltage Sensors from Russia

What is a semi-conductor? It’s generally made of materials with special electrical resistance (it is among the resistance of a conductor and a non-conductor). The electrical resistance of semiconductors also depends on variations of temperature or supplementary admixtures.
The material includes admixtures if some different substances have been added to it. Semi-conductors are known as power semiconductor devices of type-n and type-t depending on the kind of final material.
Diodes as well as transistors are produced of the two types of semi-conductors. These days silicon is surely becoming the most wide spread substance for producing semiconductors.
Semiconductor substance is used to produce diodes which serve for putting the flow of electrical current simply in one direction. In every diode there is a component produced of positive and negative elements (p- and n-) as well as of barrier level (or pn-transfer). Diodes produce electrical schemes converting between direct and alternating electrical current. Only 1/2 of the series or cycle is to go due to that diodes let current go simply in a single sense. A junction of this type is assigned as a rectifier.
LED (light diodes) is another type of diodes. Such diodes are needed in case it’s a task to create light at little voltages and at the same time generate no heat. Now specialists apply LED light diodes as the light fixing the on mode of different electronic gadgets.
Moore’s law gave way to the development of thyristors industry. What is the main factor to manufacture complicated power semi-conductor devices at smaller cost? That’s lithography. As for optical lithography, it now leads to the increase of new techniques as it has met its physical limit. It is now gradually being replaced by more modern ultraviolet lithography and nano-imprint lithography. There are more prospective candidates. Like x-ray lithography and electron beam lithography today. Read the rest of this entry »
